((Utter failure.))

The wolf whines. << One is still uneasy. Is there no other way? One is used to traveling. >>

Adam whines as well. <<"I'm not convinced there is another way. It would be a long run, through many areas that have been wrapped completely in the Weaver's webs. I think you and your children would be very comfortable at Falling Waters, and I know the pack there would welcome you. In the end, the choice is yours, but I promise that if you see fit to trust me you will be completely safe.">>

The wolf looks very unhappy, but finally says, << One cannot. If you return to your home, one will try to find her way there. >>

<<"Very well.">> He says.

In mindspeak he adds an aside to Chimera: "My Lady, would you perchance be able to guide this wolf and I back to Falling Waters through the Umbra? Without the aid of my beloved Totem, I'm not certain we can make it."

A wind kicks up the Umbral leaves, and they blow off in what you presume is the general direction of the caern.

《"The Lady of Illusions will guide us back to Falling Waters. Let us follow her lead. Are you ready for a run?"》

The guideposts set by Chimera are...well, chimerical. A rustle of leaves here, a breeze nudging you in a specific direction there. The going is slow, but steady, as your little procession makes its way back towards the Sept.

However, something else is moving faster. The wolf-spirit whines softly.

Adam issues a wolfy sigh, and shifts to Chrinos. He sniffs the air carefully. "This is not good." He says to the wolf. "I will fight for the safety of you and your pups, but without use of my eyes, I have some concern about my effectiveness in combat. I think we may be better off deceiving them. I can take on the form of a bane, and convince them that I am one of them. Unfortunately, that does not disguise you. To pull off this ruse, you and your pups will have to appear to be my prisoners. Is that alright with you? It will be confusing, because I will appear to be a minion of the wyrm, but you will have to trust me."

With that, he quickly sets about casting illusions. First, he activates his baneskin Fetish, followed by casting an illusion over himself that makes him appear to be a bane of totem level (not incarna) power. Finally, he casts an illusion over a handy vine, making it appear to be a set of spiritual shackles.

The vine becomes a set of shackles. After asking Chimera if his illusion worked and discovering that it didn't, Adam tries again to make himself look like Green Dragon (bane totem).

Adam takes on the corrupted and dangerous appearance of The Green Dragon. He sniffs, and when he doesn't smell the corruption, he attempts to activate his Fetish again.

When he sniffs again and still does not smell corruption, he growls. <<"Fucking banes.">> He mutters.

Reaching up to touch the necklace under his shirt, he spends a Gnosis and forces the Baneskin Fetish to activate.

Picking up the chains, he moves to shackle the Wolf and her pups, if she allows him.

Well, you smell like a bane, and you look like the stories you've heard of Green Dragon say he probably looks. Chimera's voice brushes your mind: << I just hope the Banes don't know Green Dragon well...>>

Then it's too late for any further misgivings; the Banes are here.

The wolf does her part, looking appropriately cowed and terrified. Well, to be honest, she's been looking that way since you started looking and smelling like a Bane. At least there's no danger that she's not going to play her part properly.

Time to put on the performance of a lifetime, Galliard.

The Banes are big, insectlike brutes, two of them lumbering through the Umbral forest, crashing through the underbrush and the occasional sapling. Scrags, and not small ones.

They stop when they see you. Clearly, this is not what they were expecting.

<< Where is the Garou? >> one of them rasps in his chittering, awful voice.

The Green Dragon issues a deep, threatening growl.

<<"I came across it trying to lead these wolves away from you. It ran in fear when it saw it was between us. It was blind, so it cannot have gone far. These wolves tried to cover it's escape. THEY ARE MINE NOW! The Garou went that way.">> He gestures off in the opposite direction of Falling Waters. <<"You may have it. I care nothing for a blind wolf.">>

<<"I hope you can manifest though, because I think it crossed the Gauntlet.">> He adds.
