06/23/15 A Laundromat [Attn: Ben]

"You know, if he IS telling the truth, we might still have to do the job of his we just cancelled." Mitch looks....disturbed. "That was NOT a fun time, and you know I tend not to be TOO squeamish. Jesus, those kids...." He shivers. "If this hospital is spitting out drones...dammit, maybe that's where the sudden cop drone force came from. Fuck. me."

"God, I hope not."

"And this is when a stealth approach is called for. With a bit of prep, this is what the Troubleshooters were made for."

Artemis unburies her head and her lips twitch in the ghost of a smile.

By your mental count, the time on your Death Dust is just about to expire. If there's anything else you wish to ask, you'll need to make it quick.

OOC: Understood. This next one should likely cover it from my end at least.

"Who were you working for with the laundromat deal? How did the operation work? Where was the money going, and what hypnotized the attendant?"

OOC: And if there's time and it wasn't covered in the confession we hand-waved, Steelheart would also want to ask for names, creature types, and contact info for his Wyrm ties in the area.

<< Oh, hell, I thought you'd have figured that out. The boss did it. The Doc. He's good at that oogy-boogy stuff. I just had to show up and collect the cash at the scheduled times. In this case, I was grabbing it as getting-out-of-town money. Don't know where the Doc's gone, and between you guys and the Drones, it was time to get the hell... >>

His words trail off as the magic of the dust fades.

"Well, that's about all we're getting out of this guy, but I should hopefully hear back from my guys in the department later about the hospital."

He looks at Mitch and says, "So, what do you want to do with him?"

Mitch snorts. "Rent a chipper-shredder, dice the body, torch the remnants in a blast furnace and piss on the ashes. This one ain't going into the record. I'm not involving the other Gnawers either. All they need to know is that another one of us got lost in his fight against the Wyrm and fell to it. I might pass on the name."

A haunted-looking Artemis slowly inhales and rises. She lets out her breath in a shuddering sigh. "First order: deescalation. Then information and infiltration. If this hospital is making drones, we need to stop it. Sorry for the scene earlier," she apologizes perfunctorily. "Won't happen again."

She heads up the stairs.

"Um, guys? The body?"

"Cleansing for sure, but after...Mitch, can your bag trick fit him? Otherwise I'm thinking Rat might be the best scavenger to summon. Given the ratkin, he might be best able to do the job without getting tainted by the Weaver."

Artemis nods, grimly. "I got this." She spends a Gnosis and spends a moment in thought.

OOC: Activating Flames of Hestia - Static Gnosis challenge vs. 8, and I throw Rock.

"If what Artie's doing doesn't work, ya might try a spirit of straight-up decay. Rat probably won't have any interest in reclaiming this piece of garbage, but rust and decay don't play favorites. In my experience, anyway."

"Otherwise, he should fit - as long as we 'parts' him up first."

Vinny nods and says, "Makes sense," as he watches Artie.

An hour or so later, Steelheart gets a message from his contacts: the bombs have been disposed of, and the evacuation of the hospital, though a massive undertaking, went off without a hitch. On the other hand, it's going to be a huge news story, and apparently the police are VERY interested in finding out who called in the tip.

"Toss your burner phone here, and get a gas can. We got ourselves a repentant bomber here." Artie says grimly. "Nicely tied up and it's a feel good story for the news."
