A howling song

Howled in Garou at edge of the Umbral bawn:
Hail, brothers and sisters of Gaia. Hail, spirits of the Falling Waters. Hail, Great Maiden of the Mists, honored granddaughter of Thunder. I bid you all hail and hail again.

I am named Sieger Sinstalker. I am the inbred child of two Garou, may their names be cursed and forgotten. Born to the half moon, of the tribe Shadow Lord, noticed by Thunder. But a Cliath, yet I beg the favor of your permission to make the leap into the mists as an act of personal faith. Then, if you indulge me, I will make my case to join the cause of your sept and serve the Maiden.

I wait for your word, in respect of your territory.

Three shimmering camouflaged figures approach.  Hard to tell much about them, aside from the fact that the shapes look rather Crinos sized.

"Well said, cliath.  You speak well, but what is your business here? Why are you moving in, just a passing affection for Our Lady?"  Says a male voice that seems to come from the ground itself.

I worship the Thunder with all my soul. The privilege of leaping over the falls, leaving the Maiden to welcome me or dash my body on her rocks. I really meant it when I said it's an act of faith.

And to ask permission and welcome to join your Sept. You need Garou. I want to volunteer. My reasons are legion.

There is a long silence. The figures moves aside.

The ground-voice speaks again, it is formal, stiff.

"Very well, Cliath of the Nation, you have every right to come to this place. Jump. But be warned, it is said that any creature with evil in its heart or darkness in its soul will surely die."

One of the near-invisible figures speaks in a sharp high voice as you pass. A eunuch perhaps.

"You will not be the first we have had to mop up."

Thank you. I will treat your land with respect and honor.

(Without breaking stride toward the Penumbral Falls, in response to the high voice): As She wills it. If I am so unworthy, it is best I die before falling to the Wyrm and harming Gaia.

(He walks to the edge of the raging spiritual river. He takes a deep breath, mutters a prayer to Thunder, then leaps into the river to be carried over the Falls.)

The Garou hits the water, is pulled forward by the current, left hanging for a brief moment at the precipice of the falls, then disappears into the mists.
